Michael Flynn, Professor
Mike Flynn is professor of geology at Sheridan College. An educator for over twenty years he was the first to re-open the Johnson County poison creek quarry in 1991 and has led numerous fossil collecting expeditions throughout the region. He has a Masters degree in geomorphology from San Diego State University. Currently he is doing research on the stratigraphy and paleo-fauna of San Clemente island. |

Bill Matteson, Volunteer
Bill is a former alum of Sheridan college and has been volunteering at the S.C. quarry and in the lab since 1994. He volunteers as the collections manager for the geology museum and prepares fossils in his spare time. Currently he works as an archaeological technician in the Powder River Basin. He is a graduate of the University of Wyoming. |

Brian Flynn, Volunteer
Brian Flynn, son of Mike, has been following his dad on trips into the field since he was four. Brian has found many of the specimens in the collection over the years. He is currently a fire fighter with the forest service and attends the University of Wyoming. |

David Nickerson, Volunteer
David Nickerson is a graduate student in geology at the University of Iowa and has worked with the Sheridan College Geology Department for the last three summers. At Carleton College, he studied the river system that ran through the present quarry location during Morrison times. He is currently studying medicine in Austin, TX.

Jessica Mydland, Volunteer
Jessica is a former Sheridan College graduate and has recently graduated from the University of Wyoming. She has been a field volunteer and fossil preparator for four years and is responsible for naming most of our dinosaurs. |

Dr. Gary Mundy, Volunteer
Dr.
Mundy is a former emergency room physician from Oregon. As a medical doctor,
Gary has been able to provide valuable insight into the actual biology behind
our fossil bones. When he isn’t running his own walk-in clinic, he prepares
bones and does research on vertebral pluerocoels.

David Jones, Casting volunteer
David
has made numerous casts of all sorts of extinct critters for us over the
years and has contributed a wealth of research materials and experience to
our efforts. David has helped many a young person on their way to discovery
and knowledge through his contributions. He spends his summers traveling and
volunteering at the Boy Scout Camp in Yankton, SD.
