NWCCD’s HVAC Certificate program is designed for working professionals looking to complete the education requirements to reach licensed HVAC Journeyman status. The field of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanics is growing rapidly. HVAC mechanics, installers and technicians work in a variety of settings, from schools to homes, hospitals to arenas, ensuring appropriate climate control and temperatures. HVAC professionals are highly trained in a variety of climate control technologies to meet the demands of the field. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts 21% job growth from 2012-2022, adding more than 55,000 new jobs.

Our NWCCD HVAC Apprenticeship Certificate program at Sheridan College is intended to meet the needs of the region and industry, helping working professionals complete the educational requirements to reach Journeyman status. As a student in NWCCD’s HVAC program, you will receive important hands-on training, as well as theory and practical training for the industry. NWCCD’s labs and classrooms in Sheridan College’s Technical Education Center feature state-of-the-art technology and industry-leading equipment, allowing you to advance the skills you need for your HVAC career.
Our HVAC program is coupled with in-the-field work experience to prepare you to move from the apprenticeship level to the journeyman level in the HVAC field. Many students in the HVAC Certificate also earn other technical certificates, such as Welding, and apply course credits toward earning an Associate degree in Industrial Technology at NWCCD.

The Northern Wyoming Community College District’s HVAC Certificate program at Sheridan College was established to meet the needs of the community and the industry. Community leaders, HVAC companies, businesses and NWCCD faculty created the HVAC Certificate program to provide an avenue for working professionals to complete the education requirements necessary to reach Journeyman status.
