The 55,867 sq. ft. Pronghorn Center is the new home of the Gillette College Pronghorns and provides new spaces for many Gillette College academic programs. The Pronghorn Center will particularly emphasize health and human performance studies, incorporating a Health Sciences Simulation Laboratory and gathering space for student engagement, along with a fitness center, gymnasium, and other essential space that will support intercollegiate athletics and student activities.
Pronghorns get home court advantage
The Pronghorn Center gymnasium provides a home court for the Men’s and Women’s basketball teams, as well as for new athletics in the future. The 1,800-seat venue gives the community a better opportunity to root for the Pronghorns. The gym also allows students to participate in intramural sports.
Hands-on learning in the Simulation Lab
The Health Sciences Simulation Laboratory offers students the opportunity to work in a clinical environment simulator with a six-bed clinic and two high-fidelity mannequins that appropriately respond to treatment. It also includes a clinic exam room, similar to the average physician’s office and three debriefing conference rooms. The Simulation Lab gives Nursing and Health Sciences students exposure to realistic healthcare scenarios.
One of the most exciting features of the Pronghorn Center is a brand-new fitness center featuring a full range of weight lifting machines and free weights, new and expanded cardiovascular options, and locker rooms for both the athletic teams and the College community. The new fitness center also has proximity to the Pronghorn Center indoor track and the juice bar.
